Mint Garage by Caleb Smith
My works evoke banality, sadness, and isolation of the contemporary American middle-class. Its imagery is borrowed from stock photos and advertising. Figures in my work are typically alienated, they do not acknowledge or look at each other. They are existing in different worlds. The environment that holds them is flat and barren abstraction, typically an office or empty room. The figures are unable to escape their cold and abstract world, as they slowly become a part of it.
