My work creates passages in time that resonate from childhood memories combined with responses to present day experiences. Growing up in a lower middle class family, the value of the second-hand object was an enormous part of my upbringing. I use found objects along with select material use for the construction of houses, turning each work metaphorically domestic. While utilizing a surface that mimic an industrial finish, saturated hues create a visceral response for objects such as a window blind, or a broom. Quirky bulbous shapes and artificial surface transform the narrative of an object, but visually keep a familiarity.
